Dr. Nigar Bayramova

Dr. Nigar Bayramova was born in 1976 in Baku. She graduated from Secondary School No. 54 in Baku with outstanding academic performance. From 1994 to 2000, she studied at the Faculty of Pediatrics at Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), graduating with honors. In 2000–2001, she completed her internship as a doctor at the K.Y. Farajova Scientific Research Institute of Pediatrics (ETPI). Since 2001, she has been working in the Department of Pediatrics at AMU.

In 2006–2007, Dr. Bayramova undertook advanced training courses in Child Health and Diseases, Neonatology, RIT (Respiratory and Intensive Therapy), Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Dietetics at the Department of Developmental Pediatrics at Hacettepe University. She earned certification in developmental assessment through studies on Bayley-3 and Denver-2 Developmental Assessment Tests at the same institution.

In 2014, she completed the “Child Health Monitoring Course in the First Five Years” in Turkey. During 2014–2015, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health. During this period, she participated in courses, clinical visits, and seminars at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, Boston Children’s Hospital, and McLean Hospital as part of the Global Mental Health/Developmental Problems Research Program. She successfully completed her studies in this program. In June 2015, she attended training on “Methodology and Ethics of Research in Medicine” at Koç University. She later defended her dissertation on the topic “Multifactorial Assessment of the Health Status of Children Born Through Artificial Insemination in Azerbaijan.”

Between 2016 and 2019, Dr. Bayramova served as the Deputy Head of the Residency Department at AMU, and from 2019 to 2021, she held the position of Head of the Department of Quality Assurance and Innovation in Education.

Currently, Dr. Bayramova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics I at AMU. She is a member of the Dissertation Council 3220.01 Pediatric Seminar and the Scientific Council of ETPI. Additionally, she is a trainer for the “Use of International Development Support and Monitoring Guidelines” training program, through which she has provided IDIR training to hundreds of pediatricians, neurologists, and developmental specialists across Azerbaijan.

Dr. Bayramova actively manages outpatient and inpatient care at the Teaching Therapeutic Clinic of AMU. She also oversees the follow-up care of healthy children in the Pediatrics Department at the Korean Oriental Medicine Clinic and conducts assessments of neuropsychiatric development in children, with a focus on the early detection of developmental delays.

Her professional affiliations include the Azerbaijan Medical Association, the Turkish Pediatrics Association, and the Azerbaijan Pediatrics Society. She also serves on the scientific committee on Early Childhood Development for the International Pediatrics Association. Dr. Bayramova is a member of the editorial board for the Turkish Archives of Pediatrics and serves as Deputy Editor for the Azerbaijan Medical Association Journal. Additionally, she is the Secretary General of the UNPSTR-Central Asia Union and a member of the scientific staff of the Scientific and Educational Center of the Azerbaijan Pediatrics Society.

Dr. Bayramova is the author of the book “Welcome, My Baby”, which focuses on child development, as well as 45 scientific publications.
