Dr. Ikram Rustamov began his medical education in 1997 at the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University, Turkey. In 2003, he commenced his scientific and practical work in the Department of Child Psychiatry at the same faculty. Over five years, he gained extensive professional experience, also working in the Departments of Psychiatry and Child Neurology.
In 2009, Dr. Rustamov defended his dissertation titled “Visual Attention Disorders in Childhood Depression” and earned his specialization.
In 2010, he worked as a psychiatrist at the Central Clinical Hospital in Azerbaijan. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as a psychiatrist at the 1st Republican Psychiatric Hospital. In 2014, he joined Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard University, as a researcher.
Since 2012, Dr. Rustamov has been a lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at Azerbaijan Medical University. He is also the founder of the Nefes Mental Health Academy, established in 2018, which continues to promote mental health and well-being.
